Despite James having his name down for this , it is apparently my pidgeon , but you can contact either of us .

This is the best place to learn to paddle white water . It is called "The National White Water Center" for that reason .
If you are happy paddling the rapids on the Wye , with no real problems , then this is the next step .
Yes , there is an intimidating section , but you do not have to paddle that bit . There is also a lot more there to paddle .
There is the lower section , grade 2/3 ( in other words , like the Dart Loop , and about the same length ).
Even the upper section has some easy stretches . All of the upper section has a path alongside it , so you can get of at any time , or walk back up a bit , to do a drop or rapid again .

Apart from the paddling , we always have a great time around the camp fire , and fields.

Many of you in the club are capable of doing this trip . If you have any doubts , ask one of the senior members or coaches what they think . The more the merrier . The trip is scheduled for mid July , but let me know if another date would suit you , you never know , we might go up there twice !

Right , i have prewarned / pencilled us in at Tyn Cornel , who seemed happy to have us .
We have provisionally booked 6 pitches , which are £18 each , without electric , which includes a tent / van , a car and 2 people .
Additional adults and children are £8 and £5 respectively , per night.

So , paddlers , what are you waiting for ? Let us all know if you want to come .

Tyn Cornel is a campsite right at the bottom of the top section , or right at the top of the bottom section , smack bang in the middle .
Therefore minimum boat carrying / loading . For those that do not want to kayak both days ( or maybe not at all ) you can also go rafting if you wish , or just explore North Wales , where there's loads to see and do.

Ok....So far:

Me
James & Hazel
Anne
Nelly & Bethany
Neil H
Foxy
Helen
Elena & Aaron
John Holle
Adrian C

= 13 bodies , but 10 pitches ? IE i have put couples together , but i would imagine everyone else stays alone ?

When are people planning to go , as the campsite needs to know if it is one or two nights? Let me know ASAP...07970026054

Ok...The guys at the campsite seem very welcoming , have took no deposit , because i cannot give them arrival times , persons per pitch etc ; So they just said to settle up when we visit . Anyone arriving after 11pm will be set aside a different place temporarily , so as not to disturb the other campers .

Just to keep track , can you give me ideas of who is traveling with whom? Thanks

Hi Hardy,

Apologies but I'm now unable to make it. Hopefully makes it a bit easier squeezing everyone in!

Cheers

Anne , you are not incompetent , and we all want you to come . I wish there were more people like you coming , as it is the best place to learn the step up to grade 3 paddling , and also have some fun .

Hi, this is Jo, Col's daughter, I couldn't seem to get into my account.
Have not paddled for a long old while so perhaps most wont know/ remember me but I would like to come to Tryweryn and Hardy has confirmed that this is OK.
Is it pos to get a lift up with any one? obviously will contribute towards fuel money.
I'm in Bristol and could drive out to meet you.
could go up Fri but after 5/6.
I'm assuming most will have there lifts sorted as its so late in the day - I'm also happy to drive and lift share.
Many thanks and hope to see you, if not this time then soon : )

Hi Guys,

I might pop up on Sunday, because there is a gent with a boat I'm looking at buying who lives nearby.

I will let you know when I know more!

Hi All,

I have pre booked us as a group to use the Tryweryn so we will get the club discounted rate of £7 per person per day. So please can you all bring the correct cash to give me on the weekend!! (This also includes car parking tickets)

Thanks,
James
