The last SACC surf weekend will be at Skern Lodge and Westward Ho! on 24th/25th Sept with camping available on the Friday evening as well. Please let me know if you are interested.

Aspiring thrill seekers should be able to borrow a surf boat from Skern Lodge - well worth the experience.

I probably can't give you a lift Chris.

It's a long way off, but at the moment (and will no doubt change) the forecast is superb for Friday. It's also has good waves for the weekend but if the forecast winds materialise it may get a bit messy. On that basis I'm going to try and get down on Friday afternoon and get on the water after it is off the ridge, probably about 4pm.

If my plans change I'll let you know.

John

Seems we have eight people down for the weekend that I'm aware of. Not sure what's happened to the excellent surf for today, great forecast all week but turns out to be 1 to 2 foot smaller (still going to head down there in half an hour though).

Still forecast pretty good for the weekend and the weather should be ok. If you're looking for some fun come on down, even if it's just for the day.

Thanks to all those that turned up. You looked like you were having fun so I hope you still think so when the aches kick in.

Surf was not the best but was certainly rideable though there was a lot of white stuff around. None of us were brave enough to join the surfers, or the Brackenbury's having some last minute practice before flying out to the World Champs tomorrow, on what looked pretty huge waves way out the back. Again Friday was the best with nice 2 to 3 ft sets with a good interval but only I was there and able to take advantage of it.

If you missed this weekend, or want some more - with proper coaches - get down to the Club Surf Weekend in Cornwall on 8/9 Oct.

Roll on next summer for some more Skern Lodge weekends.

John
