I thought the open boat section needed some posts this year!

Hi Martin,

I'd like to express an interest in this trip, please!

The trip for Sunday is Dulverton to Exebridge. Barle and Exe.
I paddled this over the holiday and I think it will make a suitable trip for getting back into things after the recent break (for me anyway). This is not a long paddle so I hope daylight will not be an issue. This will mean that there will be time for all to have a go on the many small waves I encountered. There is one weir, near the start point, which I prefer to portage. It's about a hundred meters. The second and last weir can be run or a short portage is available if you don't fancy it this time. The finish point will be the Anchor pub car park (handy). So I suggest we meet at the car park on the left just after you go over the bridge at Dulverton at ten.

Please post if you are also interested in coming.
Martin.

Hi Martin,

I would like to do some open boat white water (haven't done any before apart from Symonds Yat) - would this trip be suitable? I don't have an open boat though so would have to borrow one from someone or the club - do you know what the arrangements would be for borrowing from the club?

Cheers,
Laura

Hi Laura,
You need to contact Colin to hire a club open boat,

Hi Laura,
Most of the trip is fine. The only awkward bit is the get out at the first weir portage which is a bit small. The other thing is all the rain we've had recently, but its looking a bit better for Sunday.
Martin.

I've spoken to Colin and I think he and I are going to paddle tandem this time. See you all on Sunday!

Does anyone have room for an extra person to share a lift down tomorrow?

Thanks

Its all looking good for tomorrow - except for me. I'm suffering with a bit of a cold at the moment and am not sure I'll be paddle fit on Sunday. So Helen has agreed to lead for me if I've not recovered. Thank you Helen! I'll be missing a good day out. I hope to see you all on the next canoe paddle on 1st February.

Martin.

Sorry you didn't make it, Martin; you missed a good'un! Great water level and great company. I had a blast!

Thanks all for such a good day. Very Happy
