We have booked The Glan Dwr Mountain Lodge bunkhouse near Betws-y-coed for our annual trip to North Wales. The bunkhouse is equiped with kitchen, drying room, wood burner.

Website for the accommodation is: www.glandwrlodge.co.uk

This is always a very eventful trip with rivers to suit all standards of paddlers. With good water there are plenty of rivers to paddle to suit all abilities. However if it is dry rivers such as the Dee will run and the Treweryn is usually releasing for at least one day over the weekend. Alternatively walking in Snowdonia is always an option.

Last year there was good water and it was enjoyed by all who came along. Please do not be afraid to express your interest whatever your ability.

However please note that this is a paddling trip and spaces are primarily open for those of us who want to paddle.

Places are limited to 20 so please let me know if you wish to come. The cost will be £26.50 for the weekend and I will require payment to confirm your place which will be done on a first come first served basis. Just so you know I already have people who have expressed an interest so places are likely to fill up fast.

Deposits (£26.50) can either be paid to me by cheque or paid directly into the SACC bank account. Details can be found on the membership form or ask a committee member!
Please ensure that your reference is NW-[NAME]

Please ensure that you email me that you have paid if you make a bank transfer. Email: andy_hayes5@yahoo.co.uk

Andy / James

    4. Mike Fox

I would like to come along if there are options for paddlers of all abilities.

However, I'm aware that there will probably be more interest from experienced paddlers than from beginners like me so I would be happy to step aside if there aren't going to be enough beginners to make a viable group. I can always pop over for a day or camp out somewhere.

Hi Yo,

Are you going to be staying Saturday night? If not you don't really need to pay for the accomodation as your won't be using it....

Thanks,
James

Hi All,

Don't forget you need to take sleeping bags / bedding with you!!! Beds and bed sheets are provided.

Weather looks wet now so hopefully we can get some decent boating, if not there are plenty of other activities. Oh and some rugby to watch in the local pub!

P.s. Myself and Hazel will be up friday evening hopefully be there by 8 ish

Ta,
James

FYI - I've spoken to the Tryweryn and sadly there will be no releases this weekend. So get rain dancing we're going to be on real rivers only!

It looks like the rain dances are working. Forecast says it won't stop until tomorrow afternoon and start again Friday afternoon !!

Is anyone going up early Friday with the view to paddling on Friday? I'd like to.

John
